Animation | Week 2 | Character & Story Board
As it's slowly but surely nearing the final weeks of the semester, I am trying to tie my assignments and works to a common theme: consumption & obsession over pop culture.
This week I created a storyboard draft for the story I want to animate, as well as how the protagonist would look like.
I was inspired by Neo, the final villain in the Japanese manga Toriko. In the manga, Neo devours everything it sets its eyes on, be it livestock or planetary bodies. Every time he eats, his cells evolved and becomes stronger and bigger.
Neo's greed is parallel to contemporary society's (or my, at least) consumption of media and pop culture: nonstop, endless, unsatisfiable. I want to create a piece that tells a story of overconsumption.
